Join us for a professional development event designed specifically for Columbus Promise Scholars!
This interactive workshop will offer students valuable industry insights, opportunities to develop essential workplace skills, and the chance to network with peers and experienced professionals.

10 — 10:30 a.m.
Welcome & Networking
When you arrive at the Dawson office, you’ll be greeted with light refreshments. Take this time to mingle and get to know your fellow Columbus Promise Scholars, as well as professionals from IGS and Dawson!
10:30 — 10:45 a.m.
Ice Breaker
We’ll kick off the day with a fun icebreaker to help you connect with others and set the tone for an interactive, engaging workshop.
10:45 — 11:15 a.m.
First Session
In this session, recruiters from IGS and Dawson will walk you through the essentials of personal branding. You’ll learn how to create an impressive resume, optimize your LinkedIn profile, and build a professional online presence. You’ll also get the chance to work in small groups or one-on-one with experts to receive personalized feedback.
11:15 — 11:45 a.m.
Second Session
Here, you’ll learn how to craft a strong elevator pitch—an important tool for networking and interviews. We’ll also cover business etiquette, including tips on how to communicate professionally in person and through email.
11:45 a.m. — 12:30 p.m.
