60 Years of Connecting People and Careers

This August marks a special milestone for me — 60 years in the staffing and recruiting industry, and 59 years at Dawson.


My journey began in August of 1965 when I joined Champion Personnel in Cleveland, Ohio. Just one year later, in 1966, I moved to Columbus and started my career with Dawson. Looking back, I can honestly say that helping people find the right career path, and helping businesses find the right talent, has truly been my life’s work.

 

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of matching tens of thousands of employers and candidates. What I treasure most are the long-term relationships that have come from this work. Candidates I placed in the 1960s and 70s have later referred their children — and even their grandchildren — to me for help finding their own career paths. Watching those same candidates grow into management and leadership roles has been one of the greatest joys of my career.

I am equally proud of the many employers who entrusted me with their hiring needs decades ago and remain Dawson clients to this day. Their loyalty speaks volumes about the partnerships we’ve built and the quality of service our team provides.

 

As I reflect on the past six decades, I remain as committed as ever to this profession. My goal is simple: to continue connecting people with opportunities that change lives and help businesses thrive.

 

There’s a sign in the Dawson Theater that says:
“It’s not a job if you love what you do.”
